BEST Robotics Competition

Much more than your typical competition, BEST offers students the experience of participating as a real product development team, igniting their creativity and letting them choose the paths they wish to explore further.  Research, science, engineering, construction, mechanical, electrical, software development, marketing, public relations, technical writing, advocacy, web design, video design, and other skill areas are emphasized and available for any student wishing to pursue more and find their passion.

• Research the industry, the problems presented and brainstorm solutions.
• Establish and brand your company around the annual industry theme.
• Design and build a working robot from scratch, with limited materials and a limited time-frame.
• Market your product in a face-to-face meeting with industry judges.
• Promote your company and product in your community.
• Participate in a trade-show style exhibition; design and construct a trade-show exhibit.
• Document your design and development processes.
• Develop advocacy for your cause.
• Pit your product (robot) head-to-head against others in direct competition.
• Score well in all areas and advance to the championship competition in your region.
